A Long Time Ago…

I grew up in a bookstore, and my love of storytelling bloomed when I was small enough to sandwich myself in the small space between its two largest shelves—a tiny crevice where magic was real and the "real world" was just a cover for the wonders that revealed themselves to those who knew where to look. The roots of my imagination run deep, nurtured by countless afternoons spent turning pages and holding on tight as my world was shaped and forever changed by the magic of storytelling.

I've come a long way from those shelves. I’ve worked as a lighthouse keeper in Norway, a journalist, an author, a script writer, an editor, and narrative designer. I’ve shaped and crafted stories in many forms in my work with Disney, Marvel, WIRED, EEP, and beyond.

The last five years of my career have included a major expansion of my narrative work. Stretching beyond writing and editing for static, linear formats, my work in development and interactive storytelling has helped me build my skillset as a full-cycle writer, producer, and project manager. My work centers around creating dynamic and immersive storytelling at the highest level, from pitch through production for games, scripted audio, film, television, and traditional and digital publishing.

My work in creative development is an extension of my storytelling expertise. Using my keen narrative instincts, my finely honed project management skills, and my experience as a creative collaborator and leader, I help shepherd projects from early concepts to pitched and sold properties.

I love stories in all of their forms, and I’ve found that great storytelling always comes back to three critical elements: curiosity, nerve, and purpose.

Perhaps one of my favorite monsters said it best:

"Stories are wild creatures…When you let them loose, who knows what havoc they might wreak?"
